Proud Supporters of AIMS Games 2023
Excitement is in the air as we at Beanz Lifestyle proudly announce our participation in the upcoming 2023 Zespri AIMS Games. By being a part of this prestigious event, we celebrate and support young athletes from across New Zealand and the success of our sports stars. This year’s Zespri AIMS Games is destined to be a record breaker, with over 11,700 athletes representing 373 schools from across New Zealand, the Cook Islands, Fiji and Samoa registered to attend.
The Zespri AIMS Games, an annual sporting event is recognized as one of the largest junior sporting events in Australasia. This inclusive Games celebrates diversity and offers adolescents from different backgrounds and educational settings the opportunity to participate in sports competitions, connect with peers from diverse groups, and develop their social interaction skills. National education and sporting organizations hold the Zespri AIMS Games in high regard, considering it a leading event in its field.
The AIMS Games Trust operates as a strategic partnership among four founding intermediate schools (Otumoetai Intermediate, Mount Maunganui Intermediate, Tauranga Intermediate, and Te Puke Intermediate), Sport Bay of Plenty, and Tauranga City Council. Advisory Trustees from Sport New Zealand, ACC, and NZAIMS (New Zealand Association of Intermediate Middle Schooling) work alongside the Trust, providing strategic advice for the ongoing development of the Zespri AIMS Games.
Since its establishment in 2004, the Zespri AIMS Games have experienced remarkable growth. From an initial participation of 760 competitors representing 17 schools and four sporting codes, the tournament reached new heights in 2022, attracting 10,842 competitors from 323 schools and featuring 23 sporting codes. This growth is particularly impressive, as the 2019 edition of the Zespri AIMS Games boasted 2.3% more athletes than the 2016 Rio Olympics. Despite this exceptional expansion, the event remains largely organized by local residents of Tauranga and successfully utilizes existing public sport and recreation facilities within the region.
As a proud sponsor of this epic event, we can’t wait to welcome the athletes to Tauranga Moana 2-8 September 2023.
